Happy Day and the Mounting joy on the Horizon!

Well, after much saving and a few close calls, my new BFG NVIDIA Geforce 6800 Ultra OC is on it's way. I won it last night in a last second scrap out with another bidder. $371.78 is the damage after shipping but i think i got a FREAKY great deal being that the card retails for about $500. Anywho, I now have beefed up my game collection as well having added DOOM 3 and Half-Life 2 to the stock. I guess our first UT04 Fest is going to be the first weekend in May, which will be in perfect time to test out my completed system.

Work is work and i find myself having less time to blog and such since my boss is back now, but i'll try when ever i can. The offroad beast project is moving again, after a long computer building lull, and i find myself selling axles and all other manner of auto parts to fund the project. I still am not sure about the Buick 455 being usable in the project. But passing up the oportunity to run a bigblock with that much torque is a little hard to swallow. I do think, however, that i'll end up just rebuilding the 350 Vortec i have in the garage, as this'll prevent me from having to build an adapter for the transmission and i know it is a proven motor.

Stupid movie night was a whirling blade of bad jokes and seemingly tasteless humor. In other words it was a huge success. I do have a suggestion of a movie for the next one though. The Jeff Daniels classic "Escanaba in 'da Moonlight". It's a really bad movie about hunting and general wierdness and spontenaety. (<-- i don't think i spelled that right) THerefore it qualify's for the event.

NIkki and i are still trying to sell our house, and the prospect of building in Elk Ridge kinda fell through. We figure it'll be good to sell ours first and move in with my parents for a few months while we rat hole a bunch of money for a down payment and various other things. My only hope is that i don't end up living there forever, and i am not really happy with calling Lehi my home.

IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIVE HAHAHA!!!!!!!!

Well the Beast is constructed. Friday i spent constructing it, and my processor came in right on time. Saturday was spent updating it, Sunday was spent playing on it. Now if only i could afford the GC....But it keeps a little light at the end of the tunel. Not to mentionthings worked out very well between Dave and i, and i am now minus one Bass guitar and plus $120 towards the final component. Dave actually had one of these cards (the GeForce 6800 Ultra) in his machine and it is insane!!! Between the capabilities of the card and the physics and complexity of Unreal Tournament '04, you can get a little sick apperantly. I am now more excited than ever to complete this project. In other news, Nikki and i have found a place we'd like to build our next house. Elk Ridge will hopefully be home in about 6 months. There are a lot of things which can still go wrong, but i am hoping for the best. The offroad beast project is moving again after a slight stall (i.e. my Computer) and next up is mounting the motor. Actually now that i think about it i don't know if i have mentioned specifically what i'll be doing. Well the concept is quite simple. I am building a rock crawler to cruise the Easter Jeep Safari and someday the TTC (Top Truck Challenge). Take 2 parts of Brawny axle (a corp 14 rear and a Dana 60 front), Add 2 cloves of Lockers (Detroits F&R), Mix in big block (Buick 455 plus SM465 Tranny), and sprinkle in a tangy dash of body (the complete body and innards from my old '87 Subaru GL Wagon). Kinda freaky, but it's what i have to work with and it should be very light weight. I got the Frame from an 80's Shortbed Chevy truck and have proceeded to weld up the custom rear 4 link of my own design. Now i need to mount the Motor and then it is time to start building the subframe conectivity that'll hold the Sub's body on. I'll have to keep you updated on this as we go because it seems that i figure out how i am going to do it, then change my mind. At any rate Das ist es. Tchuse!
